No. The free scan uses rule-based checks for sections, contact details, dates and gaps, action verbs, measurable results, spelling, length, formatting and skills for your role. AI comes in only if you choose to fix your resume with AI Tuner in your CareerCtrl account.
Not reliably. A scanned PDF is a picture of text, so there is nothing for the checker, or most ATS software, to read. Export your resume from Word, Google Docs or your resume builder as a text-based PDF or DOCX and scan that instead.
A text-based PDF or a DOCX file works with most systems. If a job portal asks for a specific format, use that. Older .doc files aren't supported by this checker, so save them as DOCX or PDF first.
