About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to help build and maintain scalable server-side systems that power our products. You will work with a cross-functional team to design APIs, optimize backend performance, and ensure services are reliable and observable.
What You Will Do
• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs (REST/gRPC).
• Translate product requirements into scalable, testable technical solutions.
• Develop database schemas, write efficient queries, and manage data integrity.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and observability through monitoring and profiling.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews; mentor junior engineers.
• Automate testing and deployment with CI/CD pipelines and container workflows.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of backend development experience with a modern language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js/TypeScript, etc.).
• Experience building RESTful APIs; gRPC knowledge is a plus.
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD tooling, and automated testing practices.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain server-side applications and APIs (REST/gRPC) that are secure, performant, and reliable.
- Implement and own features across the backend stack, including database modeling, business logic, caching, and integration with third-party services.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews; propose improvements to system design, scaling strategies, and cost efficiency.
- Write clear, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests; practice Test-Driven Development where appropriate.
- Ensure observability by instrumenting services with logging, metrics, and distributed tracing; respond to incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and share best practices across the team.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and container-based workflows.
- Optimize database queries and backend performance; identify and remediate bottlenecks and memory/CPU issues.
